RED HILLS RELEASING
The College of Motion Picture Arts Torchlight Cinematheque in affiliation with Red Hills Motion Picture Releasing Co., LLC is offering a unique remote internship opportunity in the motion picture industry exclusively to FSU students.
Red Hills Releasing (RHR) is an independent motion picture marketing company which consults with a variety of producers, directors and distribution clients in the entertainment industry to create marketing and distribution strategies for films throughout the country.
The internship offers training in social media marketing techniques and business professionalism while interns work on independent motion pictures to be released throughout the U.S. by major independent movie companies. These advanced skills and opportunities are excellent building blocks for resumes in a variety of fields, not solely in the entertainment industry. The Totally Remote internship also is of value to future employers interested in employees who are trained to work from outside the office.
Selected interns will screen a number of new independent motion pictures from a library of curated films as they are released to the public on VOD platforms and “streamers”, throughout the U.S. Interns will be instructed as to how best to write informative, potent, and compelling messages on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to market, review, promote and publicize, spreading awareness for these newly available feature films.
This opportunity is a powerful resume-building professional experience for students going on to graduate programs or beginning their careers in most industries.
From Paul Cohen, President of Red Hills Releasing:
“I am currently recruiting a select group of FSU students to join our marketing team to directly assist me in my independent motion picture marketing company as we market movie releases throughout the US. You will participate in regularly scheduled marketing calls with industry executives regarding their films, and our team will work together during our meeting times to help bring attention to our Hollywood and New York distribution clients’ spring theatrical, VOD, and streaming releases.
In addition, his spring we anticipate marketing a VOD platform that is the home of a variety of distribution and film festival film channels. Our new title lineup will include films that have premiered at prominent film festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Hamptons, and Festival de Cannes, among others. We anticipate resuming spring presentations at the Ruby Diamond Auditorium and or the CMX Theater and Askew Student Life Center.
In recent years, there has been an increased demand for our Red Hills intern outreach to bring attention to motion pictures now available on streaming services and VOD as well as for more traditional distribution platforms such as movie theaters and cable television.
Our success in transitioning from “in person at office” to “virtual team” operation has been seamless, and therefore we have decided to continue through this spring, with a new intern team working remotely from home.”

Testimonials
Josh Tickell (GOOD FORTUNE) the director of the Sundance Film Festival Best Documentary, Audience Award-winning movie, FUEL, and Tribeca Film Festival Official Selection, Kiss the Ground, recently offered these words about The Torchlight Cinematheque.
“All of the Torchlight Interns we have worked with on our visits to Florida had been trained to the highest level of professionalism. We could not resist grabbing one and hiring him for our production company, where he has since outperformed many employees who came from big film schools or professional film backgrounds. Overall, The Torchlight Cinematheque radically accelerates the trainees’ ability to interact with people in one of the most dynamic, challenging social environments – the film industry. Thank you, Torchlight for producing such stellar people – and for setting the Gold Standard for Hollywood and beyond”
“Your team did a fantastic job spreading the word and it was certainly a pleasure working with everyone “.
– Leon Toomey
Executive Producer, “Detroit Unleaded”
“Over the past couple years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Paul Cohen and his amazing students through the Torchlight Cinematheque. Since 2011, I’ve worked to bridge the gap between quality independent movies, film festivals, and broader audiences. As the world has changed and the ability to reach audiences has become increasingly difficult, Paul Cohen and his team have proved invaluable in cutting through the clutter and reaching audiences in an organic and meaningful way on social media. The results are tangible and immediate! A veteran of the film industry, Paul has developed a first-class team of amazing students and taught them how to effectively communicate and engage audiences while promoting Film Festival Flix, our festivals, and movies. I highly recommend their services and each member of the team”.
